Will Global Warming Increase Homelessness?

I’ve posted on this before. And this issue continues to take root. A media outlet in East Asia is reporting that 125 million people will become homeless in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh due to the increase of global temperatures and increase of sea levels by the end of this century.

We heard yesterday about a chunk of melting ice, 9 times larger than Manhattan, collapsed off the Antarctica’s Wilkins Ice Shelf due to climate change. Our earth’s environment is beginning to be dramatically affected by our lack of environmental stewardship.

The future is now. And like homelessness in America, if we do not begin to address the issue today, then the future will just be bleak. Today, the homeless population in America is three times larger than it was twenty years ago. Why? Because leaders were not willing to invest in a social infrastructure that would prevent our citizens from living on the streets.

Will leaders of today have the courage and vision to address global warming and homelessness so that we won’t look back in the decades ahead and say, “What went wrong?”
