Faith Matters. Even In Addressing Homelessness.
I was in a lunch meeting yesterday with the Visioning Council of a new LA-based collaboration called “Faith Matters.” The leaders of this group are PATH Partners, OPCC, CSH, and LA Family Housing. The goal of this nearly 100 strong faith coalition is to help mobilize the thousands of faith groups in Los Angeles County to strategically and creatively address homelessness.
It is very exciting to see this new group get started. The goals of this initiative are: to have a Faith Summit this year, to help mobilize more people to help address NIMBY issues, to even have faith groups help homeless adults and families move into their own apartments.
We hope to get hundreds of more faith groups involved in this very important network. So if you know of other groups that would be interested, please pass it on. (Click here for more information.)

Keep your witchcraft away from these people. Nasty shelters, abuse, rotten food, trashy clothes, forced religion. When 100% of the money actually goes to the poor that's when "faith" truely works. Millions and millions spent to tell the homeless "NO! We have no housing...NEXT!; but Gawd loves you...hehehehe!"
How come "faith" is only valid for the evangelical Christian religion?
