Slow Week... Some New Ideas...

I will be out of town this week. However, I will try to post some entries...
I'm thinking of adding a few authors to L.A.'s Homeless Blog--people who might bring some unique perspectives to this societal human tragedy. Let me know if you have some (realistic) suggestions on who I should approach.
In a span of six months, there have been over 26,000 hits. I'm glad people are concerned about homelessness.
Hopefully, in 2006, this blog will bring new solutions, reveal facts that are not typically talked about in mainstream media, and help mobilize our community.

But it would be nice to have people without an agenda also , and who are not paid by not- for- profits or lookng for more money for certain not-for- profits.
I would suggest that you have someone from the Deaprtment of Mental Health to be involved. I am curious about their action plan for Downtown since alot of this Prop 63 money will be going to them. I also undertand they have a clinic in skid row.?!
Mr. ?
yep ,
hey , I jsut got off of the phone with the DMH yesterday. It looks like the money from prop 63 will be going to them and those who are already in their partnership networks . DMH has been real busy since 2004 gettting treay to hand themselves the money they are supposed to be handing out.
They have a mental health clinic n skid row and you want to know something , it sucks to high heavens.
WE need people , not of their choosing to speak about these things, but people here who are having to use their crappy services.
you can go to the county depatment of health esbite and chack out the MHSA recommendations coming up . We need some accountablility.
Instead of spendinghis time invesitgating prositutes in port-a -potties how abot dong some articels on the services in skid row mr >Steve Lopez? If you talked to teh people who use them , you might get a different perspective.
But Steve Lopez is too busy stating the obvious and takng advantage of the mentally ill to do in depth credible reporting like that.
But he did by accident expose LAMP and their willingness to betray a clients confidentiality by a case manager who spoke on Nathaniel Ayers Case to him.
Might we start there?
Great article! Thanks.
